Early Morning Domestic Situation Leads to Shooting

Forced entry into local home leads to shooting and marijuana confiscation

On January 16, 2010 at around 5:10 a.m., Longview Officers were dispatched to 1810 Rodden Street for a report of a shooting.

The victim, 38-year-old Rhonda Lynn Manning, told officers that her estranged husband, 40-year-old Christopher Mark Manning, forcibly entered the home where she was residing and shot her with a handgun. Christopher Manning was not there when officers arrived and Rhonda Manning was transported to Good Shepherd Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

While officers were on scene, a room was located inside the residence that held several growing marijuana plants. The Gregg County Organized Drug Enforcement Unit (CODE) responded and the plants were seized. 31-year-old Nicholas Lee Snapp was arrested at the scene and charged with possession of marijuana-over five pounds (3rd degree felony).

At around 6:00 a.m., Christopher Manning turned himself in at the Longview Police Department and was arrested. He has been charged with burglary of a habitation (1st degree felony) and has been booked into the Gregg County Jail.
